Love Potion
Amortentia, the love potion. That's what started the booming business of a wizard who currently lives in America. As a 6th year he was curious what everyone smelled in the cauldron of this mysterious potion. He made notes on these.
Once he was married and moved to the US his wife made amazing bath products but they didn't have a good scent so he used the list of amorentia scents to make them more appealing. They called the company bath and body works. When his list ran out he tried to come up with other scent combos, which failed to sell, so he flew to Europe and spent a few months in hogmeade village passing out fliers saying to where to find him and simply tell me what amortentia smells like to you I'll give you 5 galleons!
Coming back to the United States, these new scent combinations sold like hot cakes. Soon after, they have children who have magic and when they are sent to Hogwarts they pester everyone they can find about the scent combinations to tell their parents. This caused their company to get too large for a single mom and pop shop. They had to open shops all over and have other people running them who didn't know of the magical roots of the company's rapidly growing business.
One day the wife felt a bit neglected and decided to brew a batch of real thing and accidently a bit ended up in the shop, confused w/ a sampler of the newest scent. When several costumers claimed the smell was different but strangely seductive the Ministry found out what the secret was.
The woman was taken to Europe for a trial before the ministry. The charge was attempting to expose their world and might be subject to as much decade in Azkaban as well as the snapping of her wand. She pleaded saying it was a simple mistake she'll never be so careless again and she can perhaps explain it away to the muggles as pheromones and she said it should be harmless as long as they down DRINK it and w/ the ingredients in bath products they shouldn't be doing so any way. They let her go home under the condition from now on she just uses a drop or two per batch & she can call these "sensals with pheromones".
This was the start of a whole new kind of magic. Muggles becoming utterly addicted to shopping at this store without knowing why they were so hooked, the family was now wealthier then they ever imagined.
